SC Technology (Pty) Ltd was established in 1995 as a company providing security systems for the safekeeping of physical assets. Over the last twelve months, the focus has moved to include the provision of security systems for digital assets. The company operates with two key partners:

  • 4C Technology for the provision of physical security systems, and
  • Greenfields Data Solutions for the provision of digital technology solutions

The digital technology solutions are provided on a monthly rental basis using the software as a service (SaaS) model. The technologies provided fall into two categories:

  • ‘Big Data’ solutions that make use of high speed data processing, storage and retrieval software. The solutions focus on the real-time processing of data in support of e- commerce and other digital transformation solutions.
  • ‘Mobile Web’ solutions that provide a platform for a modern and engaging interface for customers also in support of e-commerce and other digital transformation solutions.

Taken together, these two technologies enable SC Technology to build customised solutions to support organisations with their digital transformation journeys. The technologies are locally built and SC Technology has acquired both the software underlying the two solutions and the development teams. These teams built and supported the big data and web systems used by the South African Competition Commission for their Inquiry into the Private Health Market. The teams have a track record of deploying solutions at scale and on time.
